Lidar Systems
Lidar (Light Detection And Ranging) is an active remote sensing technique for monitoring atmospheric properties and processes.
Lidar is an active remote sensing technique for monitoring atmospheric properties and processes like mixing layer evolution, suspended aerosols and molecules. Kipp & Zonen offers a wide range of Lidar systems produced by Raymetrics of Greece. These systems have been operating in the field for many years now and Kipp & Zonen is pleased to be appointed the exclusive worldwide distributor (except Greece and Cyprus).
Detailed information on the Lidar systems is available in the individual product pages.
Backscatter Lidar
Compact, robust and user-friendly Lidar systems for vertical profiling of suspended aerosols and clouds. The LB system is based on the principle of elastic scattering (Rayleigh and Mie scattering) by aerosols and molecules in the atmosphere, ideal for qualitative observations.
DIAL Lidar
A DIAL Lidar can be used to profile specific pollutants in the troposphere.
Raman Lidar
Turnkey Lidar systems suitable for detection and profiling of suspended aerosols, clouds and water vapor. The LR system is based on the principle of elastic scattering by aerosol particles and gasses and Raman scattering from water vapor (H2O) and nitrogen (N2), ideal for quantitative observations.
Scanning Lidar
Raymetrics advanced Lidar systems has developed a new and powerful remote sensing system. The scanning Lidar systems combines the advanced Lidar technology from Raymetrics with the tracking technology of Kipp & Zonen.
