About AGU Fall Meeting

Taking place in New Orleans, Louisiana, the fall meeting offers attendees the chance to discover a new location that features world-renowned cuisine, music, arts, and culture, and provides access to vital scientific ecosystems. The event provides a unique mix of more than 20,000 oral and poster presentations, a broad range of keynote lectures, networking and career advancement opportunities, scientific field trips around New Orleans, and an exhibit hall packed with hundreds of exhibitors. The technical program includes presentations on new and cutting-edge science.

What makes Kipp & Zonen stand out among the other exhibitors

You are no doubt familiar with the top-quality, accurate Kipp & Zonen solar radiation measuring instruments, such as the CMP and Smart SMP series pyranometers, the CHP1 and SHP1 pyrheliometers and the SOLYS sun tracker range, instruments that are used, e.g., in climate research and in meteorological networks around the world. But there is more.

What is new in solar radiation measurement?

At the MTX 2017 on October 10th we launched our new SUV meters. The new SUV series offers a measurement solution for every part of the ultraviolet solar radiation spectrum. The SUV5 total UV radiometer has been re-engineered into dedicated UVA, UVB and UVE (UV Index) models thus constituting a range that is smarter than any alternative; thanks to the latest detector technology, digital signal processing and Modbus® output.

The advantages of the new SUV series are that these are Smart instruments with low power consumption. Besides, you won’t need to change the desiccant for the next 10 years, and the SUV series comes with a 5 years warranty period.

Looking for a low-cost extension of your network?

In 2016 we launched RaZON+, an innovative and user friendly turn-key solution providing all components of solar irradiance, such as Direct Normal (DNI), Diffuse Horizontal (DHI) and calculated Global Horizontal (GHI), as well as sunshine duration. Particularly interesting features of RaZON+ are the maintenance free Gear Drive sun tracker and the anti-soiling Smart pyrheliometer design. Stop by the booth to learn about the new features we recently added to RaZON+.

The X-LAS MKII, our new Large Aperture Scintillometer

We are proud to introduce you to our new X-LAS MkII – launched in June last year - which measures over long distances, up to 12 km. If you are interested in measuring atmospheric turbulence and in monitoring Evapo-Transpiration be sure to visit our booth and take the opportunity to talk to our Scientist. He is an expert in the field of atmospheric science and he will be pleased to tell you all about our Large Aperture Scintillometers, the LAS and of course the new X-LAS MkII.
The Kipp & Zonen team is looking forward to meeting you at booth #638 in the exhibit hall! So just drop by and take a look at our instruments. If you have a specific measurement problem we will be happy to assist you. Of course we’ll also be there for you if you wish to share your views on solar radiation measurements or atmospheric science issues; or if you are just looking for a friendly chat.
