Published: Monday, July 10, 2017 Our Product Manager Donald van Velsen gives you the latest information about our new RT1 Smart Rooftop Monitoring System and DustIQ Soiling Monitoring System. These innovative new products were successfully launched at Intersolar Europe (31 May-2 June 2017). We also have three interesting customer stories and introduce two new team members.

RT1: affordably measure solar irradiation and panel temperature for rooftop PV installations

This new rooftop monitoring system has been especially developed for commercial solar energy PV installations on roofs of apartment buildings, car parks, sports facilities and smaller industrial sites.

DustIQ: a new way to measure the soiling ratio of PV panels

In the article you can read about our unique new Optical Soiling Measurement (OSM) technology and the DustIQ PV Soiling Monitor; our first product featuring OSM.

Measurement of UV radiation added to Antarctic site of LES solar measurement network

The Solar Energy Laboratory (LES) of Uruguay has recently added Kipp & Zonen UVS-B-T and UVS-AE-T UV radiometers to their solar radiation monitoring station at their Antarctic base on the South Shetland Islands.

Vaisala’s SP-12 Solar Weather Station: a bankable solution for reducing resource uncertainty

This new, ready-to-install system proves all the instrumentation required for best practice solar energy resource assessment and environmental condition monitoring. The station includes a mast, data logger, and state-of-the-art sensors for measuring air pressure, temperature, humidity, rainfall, wind speed and wind direction. Two of our SMP10 pyranometers are mounted on the mast arms, one to measure global horizontal irradiance and the other tilted to the plane of the arrays.

Kipp & Zonen radiometers help Swedish researchers to understand global warming

Our distributor, In Situ, writes about the Swedish implementation of ICOS (Integrated Carbon Observation System).  ICOS is a European research infrastructure in 17 countries that provides harmonized and high precision research data in order to understand the greenhouse gas balance of the European continent and nearby areas.
