Published: Tuesday, July 8, 2014 Newsletter 29 gives you the latest from within the Kipp & Zonen organisation. We present our expanded Brewer team, the new compact weather station, and don’t miss the final column by our recently retired president Ben Dieterink.

The Baseline Surface Radiation Network (BSRN) now includes more than 60 stations, spread all over the world, that provide the highest quality solar and atmospheric radiation data. We are proud that our sun trackers and instruments, such as the CMP 21 pyranometer, CHP 1 pyrheliometer and 2AP, are part of this prestigious network. Have a look at the BSRN map we have created on page 5.

Our pyranometers are used in many different fields. Meteorology, climatology and solar energy are the most common; but on page 4 you can read a very special application in Swedish building automation, where use of the CMP 3 saves heating costs.

There is also a look back at Intersolar 2014 in Munich, where we had our biggest and best booth yet and the ‘pyranometer lights’ drew a lot of attention!
