JUST RELEASED: LogboxSE 4G hardware and firmware update 12.1article picture
Published: Thursday, March 7, 2019 Starting with the deliveries in 2019 the LOGBOX SE now has a new Cinterion GSM modem supporting 2G, 3G and 4G LTE communication. This allows cellular communication in countries where 2G, and sometimes 3G, is being phased out.

All the high precision analogue capabilities remain, but we have added the latest Kipp & Zonen Modbus® sensors; SUV-A, B and E as well as the RT1, DustIQ soiling monitor system, Lufft WS-series of compact weather stations (including the external PV panel temperature sensor) and the IMT MB silicon sensor.

Cellular communication with secure connections is now supported and the RS232 port can transfer logged data without entering the service mode. The service mode supports transfer of all logged data but this extra feature lets the user request a single line of the last logged values with a simple command. Modbus® RTU is able to read the 32 registers of last logged data and this allows for connection to a plant SCADA system when needed. The 4G LOGBOX SE starts with serial no. 180092 and works with Windows™ setup software version 10.1 or later.

For the existing 2G LOGBOX SE there is also a firmware update that works with the latest setup software version 10.1 and provides all the extra functionality included in the 4G model with exception of the secure connection capability.

4G LOGBOX SE features:

  • 4 high precision 24-bit analogue differential inputs with selectable 19-2500 mV range
  • 4 mid-range 12-bit analogue inputs, 2 are 0-2500 mV, 2 are 0-3000 mV
  • 4 digital on/off inputs for time, frequency or counter
