PGS-100 Sun Photometer

PGS-100 is a spectrophotometer for the routine automated measurement of the spectrum of direct solar radiation. It must be mounted on an automatic sun tracker, such as the Kipp & Zonen SOLYS 2 or 2AP.

PGS-100 comes with Windows control and data logging software. The instrument must be connected via the RS-232 port to a computer (not included) running the supplied software in order to operate. The measured spectra are displayed directly on-screen and can be analysed using wavelength selection tools.

PGS-100 provides spectral data that can be post-processed by the user (software not included) to derive a variety of parameters, including:

  • optical depth
  • energy distribution
  • absorption by atmospheric gasses
  • aerosol properties
