UVS Series Improvement

Published: Monday, January 5, 2015 We have recently improved the cable connection to the housing of the UVS radiometers. Because of design constraints in the housing the socket mounting method is different to that used in our other instruments, such as the CMP pyranometers.

If excessive force is applied to the plug locking ring, the seal between the connector socket and the UVS housing might be disrupted and the desiccant would then need more frequent replacement.

To prevent this occurring, new UVS radiometers now have the socket fitted to a sealing adaptor as shown in the picture.

When older instruments are sent to the factory for calibration or repair they will be upgraded with the new adaptor as part of the service work.

Go to the UV radiometer overview.
The current pictures on this page still show the old connector mounting.
