RMS Conference

The Royal Meteorological Society's 2009 Conference will be held at the University of Reading, UK, from Monday 29 June to Thursday 2 July. The title of the conference is 'Meteorological Science in time and space - from local weather to global climate', and the focus will be on an integrated approach to meteorological science across a range of space and time scales, tackling key problems of relevance to Society.

There are three conference themes:

• The Water Cycle:  from local rainfall to global changes in the hydrological cycle.
• Predicting Hazards and Risk:  from local weather forecasts to dangerous climate change.
• Ecosystems, Atmospheric Composition, Weather and Climate:  from urban air quality to earth system processes.
