Joint OTT HydroMET booth!

We are pleased to inform you that Kipp & Zonen is now part of the Meteorology division of OTT HydroMet. So we took the opportunity to arrange for a joint booth with OTT HydroMet’s other Meteorology and Hydrology companies enabling us to offer you the combined strength and expertise of leaders in the business fields of Water Resource Management, flood Warning, Agriculture, Atmospheric Meteorology, Solar/Wind Energy and Traffic Weather.

The OTT HydroMet Meteorology companies are Kipp & Zonen, Lufftand Meteostar, whereas the Hydrology division consists of OTT, Sutron, Hydrolab and Adcon.

This means that in 2019 we cannot just offer you the Kipp & Zonen high quality, accurate instruments for solar radiation measurement you will probably know already, we can also show you a variety of other products; and better still, we are able to offer you one stop shopping and integrated solutions.

The Kipp & Zonen products we recommend for the solar industry are our CMP and Smart SMP series pyranometers, the CHP1 and SHP1 pyrheliometers and the SOLYS sun tracker. The Smart pyranometers in particular are a perfect match for solar energy systems as these pyranometers have digital signal processing and interfaces optimized for industrial data acquisition and control systems.

DustIQ, the revolutionary soiling alert system!

It’s a known fact that soiling of solar panels has a great impact on the plant’s performance.

As you may already know Kipp & Zonen has a new product called DustIQ. As its name suggests DustIQ monitors real-time the soiling of your solar panels via a revolutionary system based on unique Optical Soiling Measurement (OSM).

DustIQ enables you to schedule a cleaning run when it is most beneficial and cost-effective. So  DustIQ helps you decide when to clean your solar panels and thus to maximize the performance ratio of your plant.

DustIQ is a smart solution, especially in comparison with traditional systems with a reference PV panel that needs to be kept clean all the time. A clear benefit of DustIQ is that it does not require any maintenance; just clean DustIQ when you clean the arrays of solar panels it is monitoring.

RT1 rooftop PV monitoring system

In 2018 more and more customers discovered RT1, our new smart monitoring system for rooftop PV. Its unique design and plug-in temperature sensor make RT1 an easy to install monitoring system for a very modest price.

Last but not least we would like to draw your attention to our innovative, user-friendly and affordable all-in-one measuring solution, RaZON+.

RaZON+, is a turnkey solution providing all components of solar irradiance, such as Direct Normal (DNI), Diffuse Horizontal (DHI) and calculated Global Horizontal (GHI), as well as sunshine duration. Particularly interesting features of RaZON+ are the maintenance free Gear Drive sun tracker and the anti-soiling Smart pyrheliometer design. For more details please check:

Come and visit us at our booth!

You are most welcome to visit our the OTT HydroMet booth. We will be pleased to answer your questions and help you select the best possible measurement solution for your particular application. Please share with us your insights on solar radiation measurement and on renewable energy in general. We highly appreciate your feedback as this is what we need to meet your present and future requirements and the expectations of the industry.
