EMS Annual Meeting, 2013
Every year the European Meteorological Society (EMS) comes together for the European Conference on Applications of Meteorology (ECAM). This year the Annual Meeting of the EMS will take place Reading, United Kingdom with a thematic focus of High Impact Weather: Working in Partnership to Reduce Risk.
From September 9 to 12
Location: Reading, United Kingdom
Ensemble weather prediction systems are widely used today providing the means for a better representation of uncertainties in both the initial conditions and the forecast models. The challenges are to develop further a wider range of probabilistic forecast products, and to support customers in using uncertainty information to manage weather-related risks effectively. Special emphasis will be given to forecasts of high-impact weather events.
The conference will serve as a platform for policy makers, practitioners and researchers to communicate about ways to strengthen the production, availability, delivery and application of science-based climate services, supporting the user to adapt to today's and future climates. The exhibition will allow the conference attendees to meet up with the main suppliers of instrumentation and systems for meteorology.
Kipp & Zonen welcomes you to visit our stand #10 in the central foyer. We will have several of our instruments on display, such as the SOLYS 2 sun tracker with CMP pyranometers and the CGR 4 pyrgeometer.
During the annual meeting, we will present this year's winner of the Kipp & Zonen Award.
