First previews new Smart SMP Pyranometers a great success

In October the new Kipp & Zonen SMP3 and SMP11 smart pyranometers were warmly welcomed at two important events; Solar Power International in Dallas, Texas and Meteorological Technology World Expo in Brussels, Belgium. The new range of intelligent pyranometers generated a lot of interest, both from visitors and fellow exhibitors! The initial feedback from customers and distributors confirmed our expectation that this is the start of a new generation of radiometers.
Equipped with an extremely low power smart interface, SMP pyranometers offer both digital and amplified analog outputs. The output range is programmed so that all SMP pyranometers have identical sensitivities, allowing easy installation and exchange for recalibration. Serial communication allows access to measurement data, instrument status, operating parameters and calibration history. The smart interface also corrects for sources of inaccuracy inherent in thermopile pyranometers, such as the change in sensitivity with temperature.
The SMP-series is perfect for industrial applications, especially in solar energy, and in the new generation of all-digital automatic weather stations.
SMP3 and SMP11 (0 - 1 Voltage version) will be available to order very soon for delivery from January next year.
You can find more information in the SMP brochure.
