Published: Tuesday, August 13, 2013 Did you always want to learn more about solar energy? Or how PV systems really work? Or to improve and update your knowledge of components and materials used in solar energy plants and household installations? Then, the new online course in Solar Energy offered by edX and TU Deft is what you need! Kipp & Zonen is happy to announce and promote this great educational initiative in solar energy.

edX is the leading platform for massive open online courses (MOOC) for technical disciplines with more than 1,200,000 users. Founded by MIT and Harvard University, it unites leading educational institutions around the world with the goal to provide top level education for free. TU Delft is a world renowned Dutch technical university with leading positions in applied physics, sustainable energy and semiconductor technologies.

The Solar Energy course will start on September 16th 2013 and will explain various aspects of solar energy as well as system components like photovoltaic cells, converters, batteries and power electronics used in installations. You will learn how to design and optimize complete PV systems for different applications.

The course is organized as a series of video lectures read by professor Arno Smets and will provide exercises and assignments to give insights into different topics.
