Overview
When accurate solar radiation data matters, SOLYS2 provides the precision, reliability, and flexibility needed to support confident decisions throughout the entire lifecycle of solar energy and atmospheric monitoring projects.
The SOLYS2 Sun Tracker delivers the high-accuracy solar radiation measurements needed for reliable solar resource assessment, meteorological monitoring, climate research, and solar power plant performance analysis. Designed for long-term outdoor operation, it automatically follows the sun throughout the day, enabling precise measurement of Direct Normal Irradiance (DNI), Diffuse Horizontal Irradiance (DHI), and Global Horizontal Irradiance (GHI) when combined with Kipp & Zonen radiometers.
Trusted by meteorological institutes, research organizations, solar developers, and power plant operators worldwide, SOLYS2 provides BSRN-level accuracy while minimizing installation effort and operational complexity. Its integrated GPS automatically configures location and time, eliminating clock drift and ensuring reliable tracking without manual intervention.
With support for multiple radiometer configurations, flexible Ethernet and RS-485 communication, and remote monitoring capabilities, SOLYS2 easily integrates into existing monitoring networks and data acquisition systems. An optional active sun sensor further enhances tracking performance in locations where mounting structures may be affected by wind, temperature variations, or other environmental influences.
